This server is no longer compatible with 1.1.0 clients. You will need a client binary compiled from svn 1048 or newer. Here are step by step instructions:
  1. Make a new folder called TremulousTest
  2. Make a new folder called "base" in TremulousTest
  3. Copy data-1.1.0.pk3 from your existing Tremulous 1.1.0 installation folder into TremulousTest/base/.
  4. Download these two files and also put them into TremulousTest/base/ (vms-1.1.1.pk3 and data-1.1.1.pk3)
  5. Copy map pk3 files from your existing Tremulous 1.1.0 install into TremulousTest/base/.
  6. Copy the client binary for your operating system into TremulousTest/ and run it. (Linux, Windows, Mac OS X)
  7. If you're using Windows, you will also need to put SDL.dll in TremulousTest/

NOTE #1: Do NOT try to skip these steps by copying entire folders around. You WILL copy files you do not want.

NOTE #2: These binaries WILL NOT use files in your "Home Folder". They are built specifically for testing and will only look for data files under the folder that holds the binary.

NOTE #3: These binaries default to turning cl_allowDownload ON

I've added cURL support to the backport client. Please test it out. I'll put a new map or two into the rotation soon so it gets some testing.

I put up some new maps: M.E.E.P Beta 2 (map-meep_b2.pk3), Gloom 3 Beta 2 (g3tremb2.pk3), and Pulse Beta 3 (map-pulse-beta3-1.1.0.pk3. I have not added them into the rotation yet so they can only be activated by vote currently. I plan to add them later though if they work out.

I made a new full version of the Mac build: Tremulous-20060704.dmg using the same .app from 2006-07-01. People trying to download the 20060625 version will get this new one automatcially.

I managed to get QVM support working in the Mac build. You can get the latest binary here. It is not a full install since it does not include the "base" directory. It's meant as an update to the 20060626 build. I will probably make a new full install soon.

New Universal Binary for MacOS X: Tremulous-20060625.dmg. Note that if you tried to use an earlier build on Intel, you'll have to reset your configuration to use this new build, just remove the folder "Library/Application Support/Tremulous" from your home directory.

I made some new win32 and linux client binaries that contain the recent quake3 security fix and should work on WinXP SP2 when NoExecute (DEP) is enabled.

I've been working on a Universal Binary OS X version of Trem. If you have an intel mac or OSX version 10.2 or 10.3, please let me know if it works: Tremulous-20060607.dmg. UPDATE: it does NOT work for intel macs :(

I turned on alien friendly fire again, but dretches are immune from it. Also you can now use the /m command to private message other players.

I was able to fix all the OSX specific bugs in the Mac OSX build. This version is MUCH more playable. Please try it out and let me know how it goes. Tremulous-20060413.dmg I would like to get some feedback so I know if it's ready for an official release. Specifically, I need to know if it runs on OSX 10.3 (or older). For those intrested here are build instructions.

I was able to make a Mac OSX (ppc-only) build of Tremulous. It's a bit buggy, but you can get it here if you want to try it out.

I have been working on implementing a shrubbot-like administration interface in tremulous. The groundwork is done, so if you want to be admin on this server and help me out in testing, grab tremulous.exe (win32) or tremulous.x86 (linux). This new engine build is necessary in order to support cl_guid which is a pseudo-unique identifier for all players.
